Day 11: How We Met

Angela: Brian and I met at church in our Singles Ward in 2021. The first time I saw him in the hall, I thought I knew him, and I said a very friendly-knowing, “Hi!” I remember when he kindly said, “Hi” back that I quickly realized that I had never actually seen him before in my life. I internally went from, “I know him” to “Oh… I do NOT know him”... to… “He is VERY good looking”.  We would see each other here and there, but our first real conversation was after church one day, and we learned where we each grew up and discovered that I grew up on my grandpa’s ranch and his mom lived on a farm (that was a neat/sweet connection).  There’s more to our story, but in a nutshell, we texted each other a lot over the Christmas holiday, saw each other again at church after the New Year, talked for several, several hours that day/evening, went on our first date a few days later (which was also for several hours) and just talked and talked and talked. We (which surprised us both) felt strongly and talked about marriage on our first date and were married about two and a half months later. Best decision ever.  This picture is right after we got engaged. There were very kind people that were nearby who took pictures of us and let us know and then took this one, too (it was a VERY cold February morning before church).
