Day 9: What Is Your Favorite Line from Any Movie?

Angela: A movie quote that has stayed with me over the years is from “A League of Their Own”. It’s a scene with Gina Davis and Tom Hanks… Gina Davis tells her coach (Tom Hanks) that she is quitting her team in the All American Girls Baseball League during their World Series. Tom asks why, and she says, “It just got too hard.” His response was, “It’s supposed to be hard. If it wasn’t hard, everyone would do it. The hard is what makes it great.” There were many times when I would face obstacles (especially when I was younger), be it in sports, or in life, and if I got discouraged by the intensity of the challenge, I would tell myself this, and it would give me the encouragement I was looking for. I feel like I graduated from college because of this quote.  There were times when I was working and going to school, and I would feel discouraged with the heaviness of my load, and I’d think of this quote, and it would give me the second wind I needed. I was not sure what picture to post for this until I remembered I had this one from when I was eight years old playing my first year of softball. Playing sports and being physically active was a very important part of my childhood and helped create a lot of happy memories. Side note: Brian and I love to play catch, and it's fun to look and see where (for me) the love of softball started.
